How to Succeed in a Funded Trader Program with FundedXProp

A funded trader program lets you trade the firm's money instead of risking your own. Prove you can trade, get the account, then keep a share of every dollar you pull out — up to 100% on some tracks. With FundedX you can run accounts from $5K to $800K, on cTrader, MT5, or TradeLocker, at leverage up to 1:50, and scale your capital all the way to $10M. Below is the part nobody tells you: how to actually pass and get paid.

Funded trader program

What This Actually Means

Cut the sales talk and it's a swap. The firm has capital. You have an edge but probably not the account size to trade it the way you want. The program closes that gap. You pay a refundable fee, hit the profit target without tripping the risk rules, and a funded account lands in your hands.

The split is the reason any of this is worth your time. Standard challenges start you at 80% and scale up to 100% as you perform. Turbo pays 100% from the start. Instant Funding pays 95%. Whatever path you take, that's a far better deal than grinding a tiny personal account for the next five years.

A few things separate a program you'll pass from one that's built to fail you:

  • Risk rules in plain numbers. No moving targets, no fine print that rewrites itself after you sign up.
  • Platforms you already trade. cTrader, MT5, and TradeLocker. Fast fills, real charts, no learning curve.
  • Room to breathe. Standard challenges give you unlimited time. No 30-day clock forcing you to overtrade your way out of a passing run.

EAs are welcome on standard challenges too, so if your edge lives inside an algo, bring it.

Pick the Path That Fits How You Trade

Not everyone needs the same road to funding. FundedX runs four, and picking the wrong one is how good traders end up frustrated for no reason.

Turbo

The fast lane. A 5% profit target, a 7-day window, and copy trading is allowed. Turbo pays the full 100% split. This is for traders who already know their setup cold and want to be funded inside a week, not a month.

1-Phase

One evaluation. Hit the profit target while you respect the loss limits, and you're funded. Fewer hoops, less waiting. A solid fit if you're consistent and don't see the point of proving the same thing twice.

2-Phase

The classic two-round evaluation. Clear the target in Phase 1, do it again in Phase 2, stay inside the risk rules the whole way. This is the patient trader's route. If you trust your process and prefer the lowest entry cost, this is usually where you land.

Instant Funding

No challenge at all. Pay the fee, get the account, start trading the firm's capital the same day. Instant pays a 95% split. Built for traders who'd rather skip the test entirely and put their edge to work right now.

Whatever you pick, you're trading on cTrader, MT5, or TradeLocker, at leverage up to 1:50. See our challenges to line them up side by side.

How to Actually Pass

Step 1: Know the rules before you place a trade

You can't manage limits you've never read. Pull up the rules for the exact account you're on — Turbo's a 5% target inside 7 days, the standard tracks run their own profit target and drawdown numbers — and write them somewhere you'll see them. Most blown evaluations aren't bad trading. They're a rule the trader knew and ignored at the worst possible moment.

Step 2: Build your sizing around the loss limit, not the target

The drawdown rule ends more accounts than any bad call ever will. Treat it as a hard wall and work backward into your position size. Risk a small fixed slice per trade, so a rough patch — two losers, three losers — can't shove you near the limit in one session. The target takes care of itself when the risk is handled first.

Step 3: Let the platform do its job

cTrader, MT5, TradeLocker — pick one and set your stop before you're in the trade, never after. All three fill fast enough that a missing stop-loss is just carelessness. Use the charts to plan it, then let the order ticket hold you to the plan when the screen gets loud.

Step 4: Trade clean, not often

On standard challenges you've got unlimited time, so there's no prize for forcing setups. Take what the market hands you, sit out the dead days, and let the target come from a handful of good trades instead of a pile of mediocre ones. On Turbo the clock matters more — but even then, quality beats volume every time.

Step 5: Get funded, then get paid

Pass, and you're trading a real funded account, with the fee refundable so your cost of entry comes back. Payouts are fast and run bi-weekly. Some funded traders see the money hit within minutes of requesting it. Track your numbers, bank your profits, withdraw on schedule.

The Mistakes That Kill Accounts

Blowing through the drawdown. Revenge trading after a loss is the classic way it happens. Down for the day? Close the laptop. The market's open tomorrow.

Rushing the target. On standard challenges there's no reward for hitting the number in a week. Patience isn't weakness here. It's the edge.

Forgetting the overall loss limit. The total drawdown is your account's life. Guard it like your funding depends on it. It does.

Why Traders Pick FundedX

And a split that respects the work — starting at 80% and scaling to 100%, with Turbo at 100% and Instant at 95% out of the gate. Accounts run from $5K to $800K and scale to $10M, EAs are allowed on standard challenges, and the fee is refundable. New traders can also grab a daily rewards prop trading sign up to stay sharp through the evaluation.
